About

Hi there! I’m so glad you found Gluffy! I’m Kim and I love cooking for people.

I grew up driving my mom crazy about food. At one point all I would eat was Velveeta cheese on white bread. I didn’t like cooked vegetables or anything “weird.” My meals consisted of pasta, meat, bread and potatoes.

My food restriction journey started back in elementary school when I was deemed “allergic to milk”— that’s what they called lactose intolerance in the 80s. I struggled with dairy my whole life, often indulging only to be very sorry, very quickly.

In 2010 around when I got married, I made the move to get off processed food and start learning to cook. I figured out how to prepare real food so that I, a notoriously picky eater, could enjoy it.

In 2019, after two years of mysterious symptoms, I was diagnosed with Celiac disease. This devastating diagnosis was life-altering. If you know, you know; but if you don’t, Celiac means questioning every single bite that goes into your mouth, planning every meal, and it takes all the spontaneity out of food.

After a rough adjustment period, I decided I just had to learn to cook everything I wanted to eat, gluten-free. So I did.

Life came calling, and after a long and rewarding career in graphic design, I decided I wanted to use my creativity in a different capacity. Why not wake up everyday and do my best to create delicious, flavorful food, nourish others, and add an option to the gluten-free landscape in the Islands?

I want to share my cooking with anyone looking not just for an easy way to get dinner on the table, not just for gluten-free fare, but delicious, yummy, nutritious home-cooked food made with love. I hope you’ll let me!

Bon appetit!

~Kim
